SHILLONG: Assembly Speaker AT Mondal and the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee condoled the death of former Congress legislator, Founder Cajee.
In his condolence message, the Assembly Speaker on Tuesday said that Cajee was a grassroots political leader with extraordinary sensitivity to people’s needs.
The Speaker, while recalling the contribution of Cajee to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, remembered him as a warm, caring and jovial person.
“Cajee was committed to the welfare of the public and their needs,” the Speaker said while conveying his sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.
Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee President, DD Lapang in a statement expressed profound grief at the passing away of Cajee, who was also the President Mawlai Block Congress Committee.
Lapang observed that the sudden demise of Cajee was a great loss to the State and the party besides the family members. He termed Cajee as a courageous and dynamic leader who made it possible for the Congress to win the election from Mawlai for the first time.
“He was a great social worker who worked tirelessly for the people and was always behind them in all situations,” Lapang said, while adding that the void caused by his death would be difficult to fill.
The MPCC also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to God to give them the strength and solace in this hour of crisis.
