Rural bank staff stage protest

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Rural Bank Employees on Friday staged a sit in demonstration as part of the nation-wide agitation to get the attention of the law makers to their various demands.
Protesting under the banner of the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association, National Federation of RRB Officers and National Federation of RRB Employees and the Joint Council of Meghalaya Rural Bank Unions while supporting the decision taken by the associations at a meeting held in Punjab recently, accepted to strive forward until their demands are met.
Apart from the sit-in-demonstration staged in front of the RRB head office, the unions also decided to stage a dharna before NABARD Regional Office in Guwahati on December 18.
