Sawkmie condemns ‘pelting of stones’ on Jesus Chirst statue

SHILLONG: Mawlai MDC P.T. Sawkmie has condemned the pelting of stones on the statue of Jesus Christ during Christmas celebrations recently at Mawlai Phudmawri.
Sawkmie has urged the police to arrest the culprits as “the act has tarnished the image of the Khasis and profaned Christian beliefs and the society as a whole”.
The glass covering of the statue of Jesus Christ at Mawlai Phudmawri was reportedly damaged after stones were pelted on it by unknown miscreants during Christmas celebrations.
