SHILLONG: The Chief Minister and a host of cabinet ministers were absent in State Secretariat on Monday revealing the state of work culture in Meghalaya on the first working day of the year.
Only three cabinet Ministers, Home Minister Roshan Warjri, Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh and Deputy Minister Rowell Lyngdoh turned up on Monday.
Among senior officers, Chief Secretary Barkos Warjri and a few others were present.
In the absence of sufficient number of ministers and bureaucrats in Secretariat there were hardly any visitors to the Secretariat.
The less attendance in the State Government offices especially in the Secretariat has painted a negative picture of the work culture in the state, though the Government offices opened on Monday, majority of the staff are still on holiday mood and normal attendance will be ensured only in the middle of January.
However, the office of the Deputy Commissioner also had the same problem, although the Deputy Commissioner was present and some other magistrates were also seen.
