Nongkseh declared avoidable blindness free village

SHILLONG:  Nongkseh village, East Khasi Hills district was declared as Avoidable Blindness Free village on January 2 by Bansara Eye Care Centre, Meghalaya Blindness Control Society along with the Jingiaseng Kynthei Presbyterian .
Nongkseh is now known as the 63rd village in India free from avoidable blindness
The Asha’s Anganwadi and the Volunteers from Jingiaseng Kynthei Presbyterian Church Nongkseh   supported by a project team headed by Juban Thangkhiew, the senior outreach Coordinator of Bansara Eye Hospital involved in conducting group meetings, survey, screening camp and treatment.
Speaking as Chief Guest, MDC Teilinia Thangkhiew appreciated the project taken up by Bansara Eye Care Centre along with the support from the Meghalaya Blindness Control Society in these areas to eliminate Avoidable Blindness.
