SHILLONG: A gorge at Laitlyngkot in East Khasi Hills has become a death trap for passing vehicles. Several accidents, the most recent ones being on January 30 and 31, took place in the area causing concern among those driving along the route.
The officer in charge of Pynursla Police Station M. Rymbai said that dense fog leading to low visibility coupled with narrow roads led to the accidents.
The absence of guard walls at certain pockets also increased the risk of accidents, Rymbai added.
