SHILLONG: In a new twist to the suicide of a minor girl on January 26 at Barapathar, the mother of the victim in her FIR alleged torture by a person, who had an affair with the girl, led her to take the extreme step.
As per the complaint lodged by the mother of the victim on Saturday, on January 26 at around 5.30 pm, her daughter (16) committed suicide, but later, the complainant came to know that her daughter had an affair with one Md. Anam of Barapathar, here and that his father Md. Lal Muhammad along with one Md. Mehboob threatened her daughter with dire consequences if she continued the affair with his son.
Further, the complainant came to know that Md. Anam used to torture her daughter which compelled her to commit suicide, police said.
