24 per cent of EKH population registered under NPR

SHILLONG: Almost 24 per cent of the total population in East Khasi Hills District has been registered under the National Population Register (NPR).
Informing this here recently, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar said that the enrollment for the NPR is going on in all the blocks of the district barring Shillong.
Reacting to a query, Dkhar said that the District Administration wants to complete the enrollment in rural areas of the State before the commencement of rainy season.
He also said that as of now, there is no opposition to the ongoing enrollment in the district.
