KJP Synod annual church meeting concludes

JOWAI: The 14th annual Church meeting of the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Mihngi which began on Thursday at the Balang Presbyterian Smit in East Khasi Hills under Lum Rapleng Presbytery concluded on Sunday in which thousands of believers from across the State attended the services.
Besides thousands of believers, Member of Parliament, Vincent H Pala, Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma, Opposition leader, Dr. Donkupar Roy Lyngdoh,  Sutnga MLA, Hopeful Bamon, besides other legislators.
The services on Sunday began with the Sacrament of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Rev. KS Shylla and Reverend (Dr) RR Convile were the main speakers in Sunday’s morning and afternoon services respectively.
Choir groups from Ka Jingiaseng Samla Phudmari Church, Ka Jingiaseng Samla Sutnga Presbyterian Church and Ka Jingiaseng Samla Lum Mawbah presented their choir in the morning service while Ka Jingiaseng Samla Smit Presbyterian Church, KJP Synod Mihngi Standing Choir and the Standing Choir KJP Synod Sepngi sang in the afternoon service.
KJP Synod Mihngi senior Executive Secretary Reverend NS Phawa informed that KJP Synod in Khasi and Jaintia Hills will celebrate the 175thJubilee this year at Sohra.
During the jubilee celebration a statue of Reverend Thomos Jones will be erected besides other activities.
