Samagam meet held between India and B’desh

SHILLONG: A multi-district meeting known as ‘Samagam’ between Rotary International District 3240 from India and RI District 3282 of Bangladesh met in the city at the State Convention Centre, Shillong on March 19.
The theme of the meeting was “Goodwill and Friendship” and eminent speakers Prof Sanjay Mukherjee from IIM, Shillong and Swami Achutnandan Maharaj from Vivekananda Kendra, Shillong spoke on the need for forging people to people relation between two friendly countries and the role played by rotary towards that goal.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Past District Governor 3282 Dr Moizrul Haque Choudhury and District Governor Elect 2016-17 Mr Shohid Ahmed Choudhury among others.
The session was chaired by Rtn Kishan Tibrewalla and Chief Guest of the function was District Governor Chandu Agarwal and attended by about 200 Rotarians from the state and nearby Guwahati, including over 120 President Elects 2016-17, spouse and other functionaries from Bangladesh.
The program was jointly hosted by Rtn Bedaris Shylla, President RC Orchid City and Dr Kamaljeet Singh Sehdave President RC Shillong.
