The Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration Department has informed that all State Government offices, Revenue and Magisterial Courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills shall remain closed on April 11 on account of Shad Suk Mynsiem.

The SP East Khasi Hills has informed that as per the Government of Meghalaya Notification, only listed category of vehicles of respective dignitaries are allowed to use red beacon light on their official vehicles and that no private vehicle is allowed to use the same. “Anyone found violating the notification will be prosecuted as per the provisions of Central Motor Vehicles Rules,1989 and Motor Vehicle Act,1988 (M.V Act),” the SP said in a statement issued here on Friday.

Oakland-Bivar Road Utsav Committee will organise ‘Asto Prahar Lila Naam Nankirtan’ at Oakland Community Hall, Oakland from Aoril 2-3. “Kirtan party” from Bangladesh, Silchar & West Bengal will perform on the occasion.
