SHILLONG: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has suspended controversial Syiem of Hima Mylliem Paiem Latho Manik Syiem and appointed Ricky Nelson Syiem in his place as the acting Syiem.
The Executive Committee of the KHADC issued this order after several allegations of embezzlement of money to the tune of several crores surfaced against him.
Speaking to reporters, the newly acting Syiem said, “He will try to bring in transparency in the administration of the Hima Mylliem and to win the confidence of all the Myntris.”
