SHILLONG: The city based woman Rosita War, who was alleged to have cheated 6 persons denied the allegations.
Earlier, the six persons from city had filed an FIR against War for allegedly cheating them on the pretext of providing jobs for them in a missionary guest house in Chennai.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, War, who is an executive member of CSWO (Irene) said that before sending them to Chennai to work for the missionaries, she had informed them that the work consisted of babysitting for females and cleaning and security guard for males.
War reiterated that she had not cheated anyone.
The six persons arrived in Shillong on April 12 and filed an FIR on May 2. “Why it took so long for them to file an FIR after a long time?, she asked. Asked whether she obtained any monetary benefits by sending people to Chennai for work, she replied in the negative.
According to War, it was after seeing changes in the lives of people that she tried her best to help others by sending them to Chennai for work. F. Warjri, house keeper of the missionaries said that there was no harassment as such.
Sarah Suchitra Savariyan, the employer while speaking to media persons over the phone said that War is a social worker and there were no monetary gains as such as her primary objective was to help the poor.
Later, Savariyan in a statement added, “We had special food cooked for suiting the palate of the people from Shillong. If they pursue their false charges of trafficking, I will reserve my rights to bring criminal charges for defamation”
