Awareness Programme on Juvenile Justice Act & Child Rights held

JOWAI: A one day awareness programme on Juvenile Justice Act 2015 & Child Rights organised by State Commission for Protection of Child Right (SCPCR), Shillong in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, District Social Welfare Office, Jowai, District Child Protection office, Jowai and Change NGO Organisation, Shillong was held at District Library Auditorium Mynthong, Jowai here on Thursday.
The Commissioner and Secretary of Social Welfare T Dkhar was the Chief Guest while Director of Social Welfare HM Shangpliang was the Guest of Honour, president , Change NGO organisation, Shillong Deeya Rathor
The chief guest informed that the top priority of this awareness campaign is to make the public aware of the enforcement of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and to make the students fully aware of their rights.
“The enforcement of the Act will be fully justifiable if we response and act with full responsibility,” said the former JH Deputy Commisisoner.
