Unserviceable road roller detected

 JOWAI: Lumshnong police detected one unserviceable road roller belonging to Assam PWD during regular checking at Lumshnong police anti-dacoity camp on Tuesday evening.

On verification of all documents, police found that the documents including transit challan and a release order was signed by an executive engineer, Imphal.

When the Lumshnong police contacted Lakhipur police in this connection, it was known that the road roller was reportedly stolen from Lakhipur in Cachar District, Assam and Assam police had earlier received an FIR in this regard.

Lumshnong police handed over the stolen road roller to Lakhipur police who arrived at Khliehriat PS on Wednesday.
