SHILLONG:The GSU Tikrikilla Regional Unit Western Zone has reiterated their demand for upgradation of the Tikrikilla PHC to CHC in a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Chief Minister In-Charge of Health and Family Welfare, Rowel Lyngdoh here on Tuesday.

The organisation has been demanding this from the State Health Department since August citing that there is a need to upgrade the PHC at Tikrikilla to a CHC wherein a report of the condition and status of the PHC in the area has been submitted by the District Medical and Health Officer to the DHS (MI).

In a report submitted to DHS, it is mentioned that there is an urgent need for sufficient electricity supply, land, water supply, road connections etc. They have also projected a need to make the 108 ambulances available to these areas.
