SHILLONG: The father of the Catholic priest who has been kidnapped from the remote Rongara area of South Garo Hills has most probably been taken to Bangladesh.
According to police officials, the abduction is the handiwork of a Bangladeshi gang. Meanwhile, the family members have denied receiving any ransom call from the kidnappers.
Police have also alerted the Border Security Force to keep a tab along the border to track the possible movement of the abductors.
70-year-old Aidinon R Marak, a retired state PWD staffer, was at home in his village of Imblock A of Rongara, when five armed men barged into his house shortly after midnight on June 15 and took him away.
