SHILLONG: Elementary school teachers who are yet to appear in the HSSLC examination will be given another chance in 2017 and all formalities will be have to be completed in the month of September-October 2016.
This was informed by Deputy Director of MBoSE, M. Marbaniang, who said, “The government of Meghalaya has given the elementary school teachers another chance and next year will be the last for those who have not appeared yet.”
The State Education department had earlier notified that another chance will be given to the elementary school teachers – who had not secured 45 per cent marks in aggregate in their HSSLC examination, to appear in the HSSLC examinations to be held in 2016.
Speaking to The Shillong Times on Tuesday, Marbaniang informed that a total of 2646 elementary school teachers had appeared as candidates in the HSSLC examination where 2599 were declared to have passed the examination conducted by MBOSE. A total of 2798 teacher candidates had applied for the examination out of 2646 appeared.
As per information provided, the pass percentage of candidates appearing in the Arts stream is 98.30 with 349 securing first division, 2133 second division and 61 secured third division. The Science pass percentage is 88.24 per cent with 14 second division and 1 third division) while in the Commerce stream the pass percentage is 97.62 with 3 first division and 38 second division).
The examination was conducted in 10 centres across the State with candidates from Ampati appearing their examinations in centres fixed in Tura.
