SHILLONG: Kerdalin Saiborne, 26, wife of Jerimo Doonai, resident of Mawlai Nonglum Block-C committed suicide at her residence by hanging herself with a rope in the wee hours of Saturday.The victim’s mother, later, informed that Kerdalin had attempted to kill herself on Friday night but was rescued by her family members. Failing in her first attempt, Kerdalin took the extreme step in the early hours of Saturday.
The family members also informed that Kerdalin had, on several occasions in the past, attempted to kill herself by consuming Cross-line (an insect repellent), medicines and the likes. She, however, was not suffering from any mental illness, the family members clarified.
