SHILLONG: Congress MDC from Boldamgre Stevie Marak has come out in support of striking GHADC employees stating that their agitation is genuine. He even asked the Executive Council to resign if it was unable to address the grievances of the employees.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Marak said the fact that the employees were forced to go on an indefinite strike points to the lack of competence on the part of the present EC in GHADC.
“Augustine Marak’s statement that the strike being observed by the GHADC employees is politically motivated is an insult to the employees,” he said adding that the EC is using the revenue deposited to the treasury to make payments to contractors besides making exorbitant TA/DA withdrawals.
