TURA: A family in Babupara locality of Tura has reportedly been excluded from the national population registration (NPR), which was conducted by the District Administration recently.
Waren Sangma, who happens to be the former General Secretary of the Chokpot Regional Unit of the Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE) said his family was left out of the NPR and condemned the concerned authority for the alleged goof-up.
Sangma, who is the son of Late Birendro Ch Marak and Dipti A Sangma, stated that NPR Card, like PAN card and Ration Card, was mandatory for many official works and urged the concerned authority to immediately look into the matter.
“A fresh census must be conducted by the District Administration so that all the family members can get themselves registered under NPR,” Sangma said.
