Office bearers
The Dalit Sena on Saturday elected RG Pradhan as the state president and Inder Singh as state vice-president at a meeting held in Shillong. Suresh Mahato was elected as state general secretary. The Dalit Sena also wished the people of the state on the occasion of Durga puja and Dussehra.
Gearing up for the council by election, the UDP’s Bishnupur unit elected office bearers with Tynshain Nongsiej as the president, Annie Lyngdoh the vice president, Arron Khongwir general secretary and Momeet Nongbri, publicity secretary. 20 executive members were also elected.
The All India Postal Employees Union; Group-C , Meghalaya Division, Shillong in a meeting held recently elected Archelis Pyngrope as the president, Ramani Bhattacharyya and Kaushal Kharbani as the vice presidents among others.
Puja greetings
The president and secretary of the Shillong Cantonment Board Employees Union extended their best wishes to all the members of the Union on the occasion of Durga Puja and Dussehra.
The BJP district members of Shillong and Lok Jan Shakti Party have also extended puja greetings to the people of the city.
Exhibition
‘The Fashion Trunk’ will organise a fashion and lifestyle exhibition on October 14 at All Saints Cathedral Hall. Popular designers from Kolkata, Kashmir, Guwahati and Shillong will participate in the event which will be inaugurated by Daniel Syiem.
Teachers’ association
The Adhoc Upper Primary School Teachers’ Association has formed a new association called the All Meghalaya Adhoc Upper Primary School Teachers Association. BR Thabah has been named the president while E Susngi is the vice-president and F Marboh the general secretary.
