TURA:  Former cadres of the ANVC (B) under the banner of A’chik Matgrik have written to the Director General of Police in Shillong urging the official to forward the list of 139 cadres who were selected for the process of rehabilitation.
The cadres lamented that no official information on the list of selected cadres was conveyed to them or any meeting conducted to inform them of any development regarding the rehabilitation package.
“We were surprised to receive a letter from the Superintendent of Police directing us to submit the account numbers of all 139 cadres when we are yet to receive the list. We however, have heard to our disappo-intment that some of our leaders like C-in-C , Mokus (Bedith Ch Marak), General secretary, Jakrik (Deepan G Momin), Organizing Secretary, Akimbri (Amit R Marak) and other top leaders have not been included in the list. Apart from that, we are completely in the dark about the developments,” the cadres stated.
The cadres also blamed certain members of the ANVC including an official of the government of trying to create confusion and division among the rank and files of the ANVC (B).
They urged the DGP to direct concerned officials to meet them and clear all doubts regarding the rehabilitation package so that there is no manipulation and confusion in its process.
Stating that non heinous cases against the cadres were supposed to be withdrawn as per the contents of the agreement, they expressed unhappiness that many more cases have been slapped against them in the last two years.
“The matter was raised in the review meeting in Delhi last July, but the state government failed to follow it up. We were also supposed to have a monthly meeting to improve the relationship with state officials, but that also failed,” they added.
The cadres, while urging the official to speed up the process of providing rehabilitation package have reminded that monthly stipends promised to them are also yet to be disbursed.
