SHILLONG:  One person died on the spot after a coal-laden truck dashed against a stationary truck at Byrnihat.Police said that the incident took place on November 18, around 3.40 am, when the coal laden truck (AS-01-CC-1997) dashed against the  stationary truck (AS-25K-8244) at 15th Mile, Byrnihat . In the incident, the driver (name not known) of coal truck (AS-01-CC-1997) died on the spot. Necessary formalities were observed and the matter is under enquiry.In addition, there were several instances of accidents from  different parts of the State. On Saturday, around 1 AM, one truck (number not know) fell into a gorge at Mawblang Jongksha under Madanrting police station.  As a result, four occupants including three minor boys ranging from 12-14 years sustained injuries.
