BSF organises health awareness, blood donation camp

SHILLONG: A health awareness camp on diabetes was organized by Frontier Headquarter, BSF and Composite Hospital, BSF Shillong on Saturday.
The camp was organized to create awareness amongst officers, and their subordinates, jawans and their families. A blood donation camp was alos held on the eve of BSF Day in collaboration with NEIGRIHMS, Shillong
Dr Ibandalin, MD of Composite Hospital delivered a lecture on the cause, symptom and prevention of diabetes. The importance of fitness was stressed including remedial measures in preventing the disease.
The health awareness camp was inaugurated by P K Dubey, Inspector General, Meghalaya Frontier and was attended by a large number of troops. Dubey also led them at blood donating camp where he was the first donor of the day.
125 BSF jawans voluntarily donated blood to NEIGRIMHS as a goodwill gesture for the people of Meghalaya. The BSF have been conducting events like these in the hope that such effort will help the needy people in the State.
