SHILLONG: With BJP demanding reshuffle in the executive committee of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) following the alleged Rs 100-crore scam, the NPP president Conrad Sangma has said it is not easy for the party to accommodate other members.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Sangma appreciated the BJP for questioning the alleged misuse of over Rs 100 crore of central funds and said it was a healthy trend in democracy to question.
Asserting that the present executive committee led by NPP in GHADC has followed all guidelines of the Niti Aayog while using the fund, Sangma said there was no scope for any embezzlement.
Sangma admitted there were talks about reshuffling in the EC, but said they did not have the numbers to accommodate MDCs.
