SHILLONG: Two forest officials sustained injuries after unidentified miscreants, armed with lethal weapons, attacked them at Riat Khwan in East Khasi Hills.
Shaibording Pyngrope, Beat Forest Officer, Riat Khwan in East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on November 18 around 2.15 AM, staffs detected one charcoal laden truck and kept it at the Forest Beat.
Following this, a group of unidentified miscreants armed with lethal weapons, attacked the Forest official and pelted stones at the Government vehicle parked at the Forest Beat and forcibly drove away the truck.
Two forest officials, F.N Wann, Assistant Conservator of Forest and Richard Dkhar, M/R, sustained injuries.
