SHILLONG: The traffic in charge of Sadar police station PM Syiem was arrested on Thursday morning following complaint of sexual assault against him.
An FIR accusing the cop of assaulting a girl was filed at Laban police station on Tuesday night. Police said that though there was a request for withdrawal of the FIR from the complainant the accused had to be arrested as it was a cognizable offence. The accused was produced before a local court and forwarded to 14 days’ judicial custody.
