SHILLONG: The city roads were choc-a-block on Saturday as people came out in hordes for last-minute Christmas shopping.
While different pockets of Shillong witnessed traffic snarls, the problem crossed all limits on the stretch from IGP to Police Bazar. Traffic constables had a harrowing time managing the long queues of vehicles. Areas like Motphran also witnessed a huge rush as people came out for shopping. Adding to the misery was the large number of hawkers who were seen sitting almost on the middle of the road.
