SHILLONG: The Forever Young club, along with the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Meghalaya, will organise the 20th Midnight Swim on December 31 at the Saw Aiom Swimming Pool in Shyiap to welcome 2017 and also to encourage young and genuine voters to take part in the electoral process in the State and the country.
Hundred blocks of ice, each weighing 50 kg, will be put inside the pool to make the event more challenging.
Michael N. Syiem, president of Forever Young club, in a statement to the press informed that participants are requested not to take intoxicants before the event “or else the challenge of the event will be lost”.
It may be mentioned that the midnight swim is an annual affair in the city.
