FKJGP urges CM to repair roads for better tourism

NONGSTOIN: The Mawthadraishan circle of the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) has urged the Chief Minister to fulfil his promise to initiate blacktopping of Markasa-Mawphanlur road and Nongshillong-Mawthadraishan road.
Khlurshai Marthong, president of FKJGP’s Mawthadraishan circle, told media person here on Monday, “The bad road condition in the area has affected tourists who visit the beautiful spots in West Khasi Hills district.”
Marthong said even Mawphanlur and Mawthadraishan peaks, two tourist spots in West Khasi Hills, hve recorded low footfall of tourists due to the dilapidated roads.
Meanwhile, the Federation thanked Mukul Sangma for inaugurating the Spring Shed Development Initiative programme at Mawphanlur on Tuesday.
