Speaker anguished over incident

SHILLONG: As per the Assembly rules, Speaker A.T Mondal on Monday circulated the letter of the police regarding the arrest of MLA Julius Dorphang to all the 60 members of the House even as he expressed anguish over the incident.
Mondal said that he had followed the rule and directed the Assembly Secretariat to circulate the letter regarding Dorphang to all the legislators.
On the alleged rape of a minor by Dorphang, the Speaker said, “I feel sorry for the incident.”
