SHILLONG: The South West Khasi Hills unit of the KSU has urged the State Government to restore the Wahkaji primary health centre for the benefit of villagers.
In a press communiqué, Trulywell Lyngdoh, general secretary of KSU’s SWKH unit, said, “The KSU SWKH met officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department on two occasions during A.L Hek’s tenure as well as when Roshan Warjri took over as Health Minister.”
He claimed that the Health Department has prepared the proposals to restore and reconstruct the PHC.
Lyngdoh said the PHC is not functioning since the State Government took charge of the health centre from UCIL that used to run the centre earlier. He has urged the department concerned to expedite the restoration of the PHC.
