SHILLONG: Six persons, including two women, were arrested during a raid in Nongthymmai on Wednesday night and heroin was seized from their possession. The Anti-Narcotics Task Force of East Khasi Hills raided a house at Nongkhyriem in Nongthymmai around 9pm on Wednesday and found 1.25gm of heroin in a golden tin container. The arrested persons have been identified as Sujata Chettri (22) of Pohkseh, Zonunmawii Pachuau (21) of Happy Valley, Rohit Barua (21) of 4th Furlong Polo, Rakesh Barua (22) of 4th Furlong Polo, Sujoy Ghosh (22) of Pynthorbah Block-1 and Pranjit Chayenggia (22) of Dhankheti.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act is being taken up.
