School management misuses over Rs 6 lakh govt funds

SHILLONG: Two members of the Managing Committee of Bolmaram Agalgre Upper Primary School, East Garo Hills are accused of swindling government funds.
D.G Momin, District Mission Coordinator SSA-SEMAN, East Garo Hills lodged a complaint that in the year 2010, Rs 6,18000 was sanctioned to the Managing Committee of the school for the construction of three additional classrooms.
However, Ipson Sangma, president and Naial Marak, secretary of the Committee failed to make any progress in the construction of the class rooms till date, amounting to misappropriation of government funds. An FIR in this regard has been lodged.
