NONGSTOIN: The girls’ wing of the Khasi Students Union in West Khasi Hills formed a legal cell on Thursday to tackle the rise in crime against women and children.
Cassiedora Nongsiang, vice president of the central body of KSU wing told media persons here on Thursday that the new cell will provide legal aid to victims.
Nongsiang said there are many unreported cases of women and child abuse in remote areas of the district but the victims in most cases are scared to report the crime.
She assured that through the legal cell, the KSU girls’ wing will help these victims come forward and report the cases.
