SHILLONG: BJP leader and former legislator from Garo Hills K.C Boro has flayed Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Zenith Sangma for his remark that BJP is a communal party and that RSS has been working hard to help BJP come to power in Meghalaya.
When contacted, Boro said the comments made by the cabinet minister about BJP and RSS is irresponsible.
Sangma had told reporters last week that RSS is working hard in every nook and corner of the State to win seats for BJP. He had also said that BJP, which is a “communal” entity, is not a threat to the Congress.
“There is prima facie evidence that BJP is communal and they openly show their communal colour and the Congress would not remain a mute spectator in this matter,” Sangma had said.
However, in his reaction, Boro said it is neither BJP nor RSS, but the Congress that is communal. “There are enough materials to substantiate this,” he added. On Sangma’s comment that BJP would not make any impact in the 2018 polls, Boro said, “I can only say that a toothless snake can hiss, but cannot bite. The Congress has become a toothless snake.”
According to Boro, the Congress’s claim that it will get 30 seats out of which 15 to 16 seats will come from Garo Hills is a wishful thinking.
“It will only be a dream and whatever be it, BJP under the leadership of Shibun Lyngdoh will form the government in Meghalaya in 2018,” he added.
