SHILLONG: Meghalaya Youth Congress, president, Richard M. Marak has slammed BJP over the latter’s remarks on dual posts
“A person who works hard does not have time to hold two posts. If anyone is an MLA, why does he need to hold MDC post? Fair chances should be given to others as well,” Marak said.
It may be reminded that the State BJP had demanded Chief Minister Mukul Sangma to step down for passing the dual posts bill that has been proven void and praised suspended Congress P.N. Syiem for his stand on the issue.
The Supreme Court recently upheld the May 31, 2016, ruling by the then Governor V. Shanmuganathan that the post of MDC is not an office of profit.
