JOWAI: The Jaintia Youth Federation (JYF) has threatened stir to pressurise the government to upgrade Khliehriat civil sub-division to a district.

This comes after the government failed to respond to the demand made by several Jaintia based NGOs besides the JYF.

“It seems the government is neglecting the demand to upgrade Khliehriat sub-division to a district ”, a statement issued by JYF President, P Majaw here stated.

The JYF informed that a series of agitational programmes would soon be declared in Jaintia Hills if the government failed to take any decision in this regard immediately.
