SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong are gearing up to host table-toppers East Bengal in a Hero I-League match at the JN Stadium here on Saturday afternoon.
Fourth-placed Lajong are looking to leave no stone unturned to ensure a win in this crucial home tie which might as well shape the rest of the season for the Reds.
Lajong have an impressive record at home against Kolkatans beating them four out of the six times they played in Shillong. Come Saturday, Thangboi Singto’s army will look to hold tight to its fortress against the fancied opponents whom they held to a 1-1 draw in their last encounter in Siliguri.
Lajong are coming into the tie on the back of a 4-1 away win over Chennai City FC.
Tickets for Saturday’s clash are on sale at Lajong Counter, SSA Ground Polo; Sports Spirit, MUDA Complex; Meba Stationery, Jingkieng, Nongthymmai; Meghalaya Print, Malki and Mobile Centre, Police Bazar.
