New Delhi: Government is expected to take up a proposal by Defence Ministry to establish a mountaineering institute in Arunachal Pradesh to train the troops in mountain warfare and motivate the youth in North Eastern areas to join the armed forces.

The proposal to set up North Eastern Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NEMAS) Institute in Arunachal Pradesh is expected to be discussed in Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Tuesday, senior Army sources said here.

Besides training the army troops, the Institute will also be used to motivate youngsters in northeastern part of the country to take up a military career, they said. (PTI)
