Stress on lowering infant mortality

SHILLONG: There is an urgent need for reducing infant death rate in the eight SAARC countries, said former director of NEIGRIHMS R.N Salhan on Monday.
Addressing a gathering at the 7th Annual-Cum-Convocation Day of the institute, Salhan stressed on the need to check infant mortality.  Vandana Raphael, Dean of NEIGRIHMS, delivered the welcome speech followed by Director P. Bhattacharyya who administered the Hippocratic Oath for the Outgoing MBBS students. Former director of AIIMS-Patna G.K Sing said, “You should make others smile through your work and healing touch.”
The best outgoing MBBS student award was presented to Subronil Paul and the best outgoing B.Sc Nursing student award was received by Angela Muktieh for 2016.
