SHILLONG: A crowd of around 300 people created nuisance on the premises of Ampati PS in protest against checking of overloaded vehicles conducted by Police at Ampati on March 3.
The crowd also threatened the police with dire consequences. The Ampati police filed a suo-moto complaint in this regard.
Later, the South West Garo Hills SP and other police officials arrived at the spot to have a word with the public.
A meeting will be held soon with the South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, DTO Ampati and other officials to resolve the matter.
