 BVSc & AH courses
The Secretary, Veterinary Council of India & Joint Commissioner, DAHD&F, Government of India, has informed that the Veterinary Council of India will not conduct the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT)-2017 due to administration reasons. All students who desired to take admission into BVSc & AH courses for 15% seats on All India basis will have to appear in NEET (UG)-2017 to be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on May 7, 2017. VCI will use the NEET merit list for allocation of seats for BVSc & AH course under 15% All India quota.
Ex-servicemen meet at AR
A meeting of the ex-servicemen of Assam Rifles was held at AR Headquarters in Laitkor on Thursday on the occasion of its 182nd Raising Day. The meeting, presided over by Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, was held to redress the grievances of ex-servicemen, widows and their dependants.
Inauguration
Bethany Society Computer Centre under Amway Opportunity Foundation (AOF) will be inaugurated on March 28 at Bethany Society campus, Laitumkhrah. AOF has donated 12 computers and a Braille printer to enhance the computer centre and Braille Library of Bethany Society and to lay focus on enhancing opportunities for persons with visual impairment.
Appointment
The under secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Planning Department has informed that the State government has appointed former MLA and MDC P.T Sawkmie as co-chairman of Meghalaya Resource and Employment Generation Council and Kimfa Marbaniang as vice chairman with effect from the date of assumption of charge.
Workshop
The Reach Shillong Ministries in assistance with the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills through the Chief Minister Youth Development Scheme 2013-14 is organising a ‘one day workshop on coping skill against substance abuse from 10am at Phudmawrie Presbyterian Secondary School, Mawlai.
Blood donation
The NSS unit of BBS College in collaboration with the Regional Blood Bank, Pasteur Institute Shillong organised a voluntary blood donation camp in the institute on Thursday. 40 NSS volunteers donated 16 units of blood led by programme officer Dr. Bikram Thapa.
CRB exam
The Central Recruitment Board will hold examinations for various posts in the police department on March 24, 25 and 31 at Tura Government College and on April 1 at Pechon Memorial Police Public School in Tura, the West Garo Hills SP said in a press release.
Office bearers
The Meghalaya Tribal Teachers’ Association of North-Eastern Hill University conducted its general body election in the university recently. Desmond L. Kharmawphlang was elected as president, Lakhan Kma was elected vice-president and M.M Khymdeit was elected as secretary.
