New KSU prez
The Election Committee of Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) will conduct the 13th general election of the KSU on February 11 from 8 am to 3 pm. However, Lambokstarwell Marngar has been named as president uncontested. Two more posts are uncontested, Vice-President Shemphang Lyngdoh Mawphlang and General Secretary- Donald V. Thabah. Other posts will be contested.
Dry day
The District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills has declared dry days on February 13 and 14, which are the polling days for the Dolloiship election in Jowai Elaka. February 17, which is the counting day, will also be a dry day.
Office bearers
The United Democratic Party (UDP) Riatsamthiah Unit, in a meeting on February 8 elected David Warjri as president, Fedrick Kennedy Marbaniang as vice-president, Mardon Kupar Kharsynteng as general secretary besides others. 26 executive members were also elected.
