NONGPOH: The Dorbar of Umsning Proper B, in collaboration with the District Arts and Culture Society, will organise a two-day event, Umsning Cultural Festival, from February 23 to create awareness on the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous culture.
There will be stalls selling organic products, food items, handloom goods and handicrafts made in Ri Bhoi. The festival will be held at Umsning ground. Umsning Proper B headman R Marwein said competitive events, like traditional and modern dance, folk song and traditional fashion show, will be on the list. Also, there will be arm wrestling and amateur photography competitions.
