NEHU organises orientation programme for teachers

SHILLONG: One month duration General Orientation Programme for newly appointed teachers of higher education was organised by the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre of NEHU, Shillong, from January 23 to February 19.
The aim of this Orientation Programme was to enhance the skills, knowledge and efficiency of the teachers. Coordinator Dr. Quendarisa Kharbuli, informed that the major thrust during the Programme was laid upon basic modalities of teaching and learning process such as micro-teaching, philosophy of education, information technology, research methodology, curriculum development, question paper setting in accordance with CBCS and others.
Addressing the teachers at the Valedictory function, chief guest Prof. T.K. Kharbamon, Director, English and Foreign Languages University, congratulated the participants at the successful completion of the one month programme.
Chairperson, Prof. Rakesh Mohan, Director, UGC-HRDC, NEHU, informed that 41 participants, comprising of 18 numbers from Meghalaya; 8 numbers from Nagaland; 4 numbers from Arunachal Pradesh; 4 numbers from Sikkim; 4 numbers from Tripura and 3 numbers from Assam have successfully completed the training programme.
