SHILLONG: The Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) has announced uniform timing for government schools.
The State Government, through the Director of DSEL on February 6, had ordered that after the winter holidays, schools should reopen on February 16 and summer vacation will be from June 29 to July 7.
After summer vacations, schools will reopen on July 10. Winter holidays will be from December 16 to February 15, 2018. The Directorate of School Education and Literacy directions further stated that school timings will be from 9 am to 1 pm for Lower Primary section, 9 am to 2.30 pm for Upper Primary section, 9 am to 3 pm for secondary section and 9 am to 3.30 pm for higher secondary section.
However, special category schools — which include Shillong Public School, Pine Mount School, Tura Public School and Jowai Public School — have been exempted from the regulations, a government source said.
