Inter School Cricket: Gandhi Buniyadi, SCA register wins

SHILLONG: Gandhi Buniyadi School beat Shillong Secondary School by 5 wickets while Shillong Cricket Academy got the better of K.V. Upper Shillong by 6 wickets in the U-18 category of the Inter School Cricket tournament here on Wednesday. In the first match, Shillong Secondary School batted first and scored 129/10 in 22.4 overs with contribution of 32 runs by Suman Das and 25 runs by Prasanjit Sarkar. Sonu Mahato claimed 4 wickets for the bowling side. In reply, Gandhi Buniyadi reached the target in 20.4 overs losing 5 wickets. Krishna Rai scored 34 runs for the winners. In the second match, K.V. Upper Shillong elected to bat first and scored 101/10 in 23 overs. Deebakar Bhaishya scored 22 runs while Vicky Kumar contributed 21. Malemngamba Naorem took 4 wickets and Aryan Borah claimed 3 wickets. In their chase, Shillong Cricket Academy reached the total in 22.3 overs with Anurag Paul scoring 27 runs and Praveen Chettri contributing 26 runs.
