Tripura BJP prepares for Amit Shah’s visit on May 6

Agartala: The BJP Tripura state committee has prepared to bid a rousing welcome to Party’s national president Amit Shah who is on a two-day visit from May 6 to Agartala for formal launching of election campaign in the state, scheduled early next year.

BJP vice-president Subal Bhowmik said after his arrival Shah would hold series of meetings with the party’s rank and file in Agartala followed by addressing an in-house gathering regarding poll strategy and preparation of election in the state.

According to the schedule, Shah before leaving for Delhi next day in the afternoon, would address a mammoth gathering at Kumarghat covering Dhalai, North and Unokoti districts of Tripura, which are considered to be the best base of BJP in Tripura.

Bhowmik said Shah would land in Agartala on May 6 morning and would join a meeting of the party top state leaders and its frontal organizations followed by a media briefing at the State Guest House in the afternoon.

He would also hold meeting with core committee members of the party, office bearers, spiritual leaders and a group of intellectuals.

The party meeting would continue next morning before he leaves for Kumarghat .

He is set to address a public rally there at 12 noon while the Union minister of state for health would also share the dais with Shah at Kumarghat.

Shah would also hold another meeting with selected leaders over lunch at Agartala. He is scheduled to leave the state in the evening for Delhi, Bhowmik said adding that the last minute programme of Shah would induct or alter the plan but the main agenda of his arrival is to gear up election activities in the state to unseat the lone left ruled state of the country.

He informed that after Amit Shah’s visit, every fortnight one central leader and ministers would hold meetings and rallies in each of the constituencies across the state to ensure BJP’s victory in Tripura.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to address at least three rallies in the state before election. (UNI)
